THE WAY
My knives are carefully handmade from a fusion of time-honored techniques with modern methods and technologies. Blades are hand-forged from high-carbon specialty steel but I also occasionally make stainless blades for those who desire less maintenance. When properly forged and heat treated, high-carbon steel blades exhibit extremely keen and long lasting edges that are also easier to sharpen than their stainless counterparts.
I use an LP gas forge for my metal shaping and my heat-treating is done with a custom made-to-my-specs digitally controlled oven and the blades are quenched in either water, specialty quenchant oil, or a combination of the two.
All wood used on my knives is vacuum and pressure stabilized with specialty resin unless unneeded due to extreme density such as, Desert Ironwood, Ringed Gidgee, Lignum Vitae Etc.
